Sri Lanka - The tourists destination for valuve of money

In last few years what we saw was flight coming to Sri Lanka full of tourists from Europe and Middle East. But most of them just stay in Bandaranayake International Air port or in the same flight to as transit tourists to Maldives. They just use this wonderful country as a transit Airport. One main reason for this was the 26 year old conflict in Sri Lanka.

Even they landed in this wonderful country, they wasted their golden opportunity to see the beauty of this country. It might be two possible reasons for this,
1. Security conditions in Sri Lanka before 19th May 2009
2. They may not fully aware of this small miracle "Sri Lanka"

Now there is no terrorism in Sri Lanka thanks to our government and military force. They united this wonderful island and brought the peace to this country. Sri Lanka is now very safe country to travel for anyone.

So that first reason we pointed out is no more there. Now only possible reason might be second one.

Sri Lanka tourism

Elephants in Sri Lanka

Lovers of wildlife like to watch elephants, more than any other animal, in their natural surrounding.

In Sri Lanka there are many places you can visit to see Elephants in their natural surroundings. Wilpattu, Yala, Udawalawe, Minneriya and Kaudulla are famous wildlife sanctuaries where you can see elephants roaming wild and free. In the evening of the day is the ideal time to watch the elephants.

So the best way to plan your tour is to visit Dambulla and stay in a hotel at Dambulla. Then in the evening within half an hour drive you can reach Huruluwewa Echo park. There are safari jeeps available with very experienced guides.

These safaris usually end at a huge rock from where you can see whole expanse of jungle at once.

Lion Lanka Tours offers two tour packages including the destination to Dambulla. If you select Culture and Heritage Tour package or Colombo - Sigiriya tour package you can include elephant watching adventure to your tour package!
